Bird Flu What is Bird Flu? It’s a disease, which is known formally as   Avian influenza and  refers to " influenza   caused by   viruses   adapted to   birds .     There are three types of influenza viruses ( A ,   B , and   C ). Avian influenza usually refers to the influenza A virus.   Though influenza A is adapted to birds, it can also stably adapt and sustain person-to person transmission. Avian influenza strains are divided into two types based on their   pathogenicity : high pathogenicity (HP) or low pathogenicity (LP). The type with the greatest risk is   highly pathogenic avian influenza   (HPAI). The most well-known HPAI strain,   H5N1 , appeared in China in 1996, and also has low pathogenic strains found in North America. Wash your hands cleanly and thoroughly using soap, every time you come home from outside, you touch any thing outside, before and after you take your meals and after you use toilets. 2. Keep your house clean , your kitchen and toilets, in particular. 3. Take home made meals only, as far as possible. 4. Use less oil and spices in the food you prepare at home. Use vegetable oild such as soyabean, sunflower, or olive oil, etc. 5. Take a lot of green vegetables , green salads, milk, curd, whole grains in your meals. 6. As far as possible, use raw fruits, grains and vegetables. Avoid packaged foods. 7.  keep your bedroom, beds, bed sheets, etc neat and clean . 8. Keep calm and be always positive .
