Political Wrestling in UP

24.10.2016

The political wrestling in the most powerful political family of Uttar Pradesh has intensified. The family feud that started some time ago has come out to open and has gone so far that a split in the ruling  Samajwadi Party appears evident now.

CM Akhilesh has a clean progressive image in this vast state and has made considerable efforts for keeping criminals and power brokers at bay, away from the party and the government. But his efforts have always far been countered and nullified by his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav and his father and SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

A few people like Amar Singh and others who are pretty close to Shivpal Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav and who have been rebuked by Akhilesh yadav at one point of time or the other, have seemingly conspired against Akhilesh. They have fed Mulayam Singh's ears so much so that the situation has become so bad within the family.

The CM has dismissed his uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav from his cabinet along with a few other ministers who were close to him. In turn, Shivpal Singh yadav, who happens to be State Chief of the Samajwadi party has expelled several SP Party office bearers, who were close to the CM.

Mulayam has intervened, but peace has completely eluded so far....a couple of days to come would unfold what is there in store.....hard time for Samajwadi Party and the Yadav family, but the State and the nation is watching these happenings with a lot of interest.

The fight within Samajwadi Party just a little before the elections for UP legislative assembly is bound to harm the interests of the ruling party.

What is to be seen is that who benefits from all this. In my view, in case the fight within Samajwadi party is not contained and extinguished soon, it is certain that it is going to bite the dust and in that scenario, majority of traditionally anti-BJP voters will flock to Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) of Mayavati. So, loss to SP may be a gain for BSP!
